Very nice, smooth surface ready to paint or stain if you want, but I left mine natural. Swing was slightly smaller than I expected, but is large enough for two adults or one adult and two small children. Expect some cracks in the cedar. It doesn't affect the swing, but folks not use to cedar might think this is a defect. The swing is very sturdy. I love it.

Well, I actually put this together by myself and I'm a lady. Had to get me a power screwdriver but after that it was easy. It is gorgeous, I'm very proud of my choice of swings. It doesn't look cheap like some, and it's pretty sturdy. The wood in this swing is to pretty to describe. Everthing nowdays looks fabricated. This looks so real. I shopped this to death, as I usually do with this kind of purchase. The price and value is unbeatable. My 1/2 acre wooded lot needed a lot of work to make it useable. I've been clearing the undergrowth and marveling at the beauty, but needing rustic seating to make it complete. What a wonderful touch the swing is! It is comfortable and durable, very easily assembled, and hopefully maintenance free. At first I thought it was for midgets because it is so low, but that is an illusion because the frame is short. The swing itself sits the same distance from the ground as my other swing in the front yard. There is no real need for a frame to be very high, so this is perfectly comfortable; not too low (as it first appeared). I will not be staining it nor putting a protective coating on it because, as I said, my yard is wooded, so this looks natural in that setting. Thanks so much for the awesome price and product.

This is a very attractive, durable and strong piece of furniture, yet light to carry. I had a couple large friends over and it held them and still swung quite easily. (They are my Aberdeen Proving Grounds for furniture strength testing.) It took my 14 yr. old son and I about a 30 minutes to assemble - no problems at all. If you can't assemble this easily, then you should stick with pre-assembled furniture or take a powderpuff class in building trades. Compared to all else I've owned and shopped for, I've yet to find nearly as good a deal. Outstanding!

Great quality piece of furniture and it looks great,especially after you stain it. We stained ours and then assembled it and assembly is not easy compared to other things we have put together. It definitely requires 2 people and some patience. With that said, we could not be happier with it now that its up in our yard. Its comfortable, attractive and very sturdy.
