I purchased this stand almost a year ago and a weld broke today. I called the company to see if I could purchase a replacement part and I was shipped a WHOLE NEW STAND FREE OF CHARGE! The person I spoke with(Dave) was actually on site at the facility, not a call center person from another country who barely spoke English. Algoma makes a great product and stands behind it!

Product Review for Algoma 2-Point Jumbo Center-Beam Tubular Steel Hammock Stand
I love my hammock but I wish I had not purchased the stand. It is wobbly and needs a perfectly flat surface, which leaves a grass yard out even if it is level. I can carefully get into my hammock, but I do not feel completely relaxed. Also, I have limited storage space and did not think about where I will store this stand over the winter. I will have to disassemble and reassemble it each year and find a place to store the pieces. Not fun.
BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I was watching for a good deal on a hammock stand and I bought this one. After researching them and reading a lot of reviews, I decided I'd rather pay once and get a good one. This one is great. It's sturdy and strong. It's long so it will accomodate several sizes (if your hammock is too short, just get a bit of chain from [...]and extend it - viola!). It's strong enough to hold me and my husband, even when we jump into the hammock (adding a few pounds for the velocity of the jump!). Glad I didn't cheap out. Get it. You'll be glad you did.
