Product Review for Home Styles Modern Craftsman Gaming Entertainment Center in Distressed Oak
I love te look of my family room since adding the gaming center. It has enough storage and shelving. The only issue I had was puttin it together with no help...guess that's a con or me :(

Product Review for Home Styles Modern Craftsman Gaming Entertainment Center in Distressed Oak
We had the silly idea that this unit was constructed out of some sort of "black iron" type metal combined with wood. In the manner of US "Craftsman" style. Well, it was half right. The metal work was light-weight square tubing, with open welds, and the color, which was light tan, easily rubbed off. Constructed in China. The shelves seemed to be some sort of solid wood, yet the edges "crumpled", which means it is a fiber material covered by some sort of veneers. Pretty much standard furniture wood these days. The unit does look pretty nice in our nice dim TV room, so it's not a total loss. If it gets too dinged up (grandchildren), I can always disassemble it, paint it with some nice "black iron" Hammerite expoxy paint, and make some solid pine shelves -- so it can be 'fixed up'....
Service Review for Home Styles Modern Craftsman Gaming Entertainment Center in Distressed Oak:
Damage to metal parts -- color rubbed off in many areas. Wood corners were "crumpled". Overall, it was packed very well considering the condition of the external cartons. Looked like Fed-Ex just "flipped" them end-to-end to move them instead of using that nifty device called a "hand truck". Tons of styrofoam panels and blocks inside, a lot of it pulverized and stuck to all the parts. 3 large cartons came, each carton was about 60-80 kilos, and each carton produced a 50-gallon garbage bag of styrofoam debris to dispose of.
BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend
