At Newport Gliders, every Glider Rocker is constructed with the finest Hard Maple and Red Oak hardwoods of New England. Besides using the best lumber, each chair has on average 120 screws or more, 30 or more pin nails, glue applied to every part and 8 high quality precision ball bearings that are rated for 30,000 rpm…now that’s gliding! But it doesn’t stop there…
The Newport Glider line is available in several finishes. Each rocker chair that goes through our finish line is dip stained and then hand wiped, given a coat of sealer, hand sanded and finally receives a coat of lacquer. During this entire process, each chair is inspected for quality. The Newport Glider line also has a wide selection of fabrics and colors from which to choose. If you don’t find a fabric that fits your needs, you can provide your own fabric and with our COM (customers own material) program, we will fabricate it to fit any glider frame in our line. Inside the fabrics you will find high quality foam that will provide comfort for years to come.
Today the company continues to invent new features, provide better comfort, and endeavors to create the most incredible experience of what all of us really need day-to-day – a good, peaceful sit. Newport Gliders continues its operations in Newport, Vermont and employs 120 craftsmen, upholsterers and customer service representatives. More recently Newport Gliders has expanded into the baby, nursery, and children's furniture industries with great success. There are several models of the glider to choose from and if customers can't quite decide on over 50 fabric choices, Newport Gliders is always coming out with new ones. What the future holds is quite simply more options for their customers.

I love the quality of these cushions. The foam core is strong and will hold up for many years. The cover material is quality and will last for a long time. The pattern of the material is a little different than the one I chose, but I like it better. My con is that these cushions are much bigger than I thought they would be. The back cushion fits snuggly and that's okay, but the seat cushion is too long from front to back. I'm afraid that in time the cushion will start to bend where your knees fit in the chair. Also the ties to secure the cushions to the chair have the top part of a snap, but no bottom. I assume they were made for chairs with bottom snaps attached to the chair. My chair does not have that. Since the cushions fit so snuggly, it hasn't been a problem.

Glider Rocker Replacement Cushions

We had a hard time locating replacement cushions for some older rockers that the original cushions were getting worn and faded. The Newport Rocker replacement cushions are very nice and fit our rockers well. Be sure to measure your old cushions and/or the width and height of your current rockers and compare to the cushions size available. We asked to have some snaps added to the replacement cushions but the really don't work because our rockers are older and the design is different, but the cushions fit tight enough, They look nice and are firm and supportive, and very comfortable. We are satisfied.

Great cushions

I bought these cushions to replace old cushions in an old glider. (The glider is not a Newport glider. In fact, we were given the glider so I'm not sure who made it.) The cusions are thick and a little stiff at first but I prefer it that way as they will be broken-in the more you use them. They provided good support through many rockings with my baby girl. The back cushion has snaps attached to it to snap onto a rocker so it doesn't move around. Our glider doesn't have snaps, and although we could have installed some, we didn't need to as the cushions were a snug fit already.

The back cushion does not look like the picture. No BUTTONS or PLEATS. Only plain, which takes away from the appearance of the chair. This was not stated when ordered and could have changed our mind at time of order, even though the price was good.
