The Telescope Cot Bed & Novelty Company was founded in 1903. Very happy with this purchase. The slings were easy to put in. No special tools were needed. I just left one side attached to the frame, put the slings in and before attaching the other side, I loosened the screw from the still attached side and then alternated tightening each side to stretch the slings into place. Much cheaper than buying new furniture!

I am so thankful I can even get replacement slings! I have 8 chairs and 4 lounge chairs, so it was great to be able to repair the chairs instead of having to replace all the furniture. Con: Hard to install!

I use these chairs on the deck of a rental house in the Bahamas. Replacing the slings is more cost effective than buying new chairs. The slings are affected by u v rays and rip along the connection with the seat. If they were reinforced at the seat they would last longer but then you wouldn't sell as many !!! I remember the first time one of the slings ripped. A rather large Englishman plopped his fat buttocks down on the chair and wound up sitting on the deck. Picture it !

Original material lasted about 15 years, stored outside in the winter. Bought a couple of much cheaper sling chairs from a box store, lasted a couple of years. Outstanding durability and quality, including the paint job on the chairs. One caution I was not told by the seller: you need some way to mechanically spread the chair back to get the tubes far enough apart to replace the the back reinforcement bar (I used reversable wood bar clamps). This was the only difficult part. Removing and replacing the material was much easier than I had anticipated. Well worth the effort, because the chairs look like new again. Telescope causual furniture is quality all the way. If you can afford it, it's well worth the extra money.
