This umbrella cover is ingenious. It has a rod in the side that is extended and assists in placing the cover over the top of the umbrella. In winds, the string on the opposite side assists in guiding the opening over the umbrella, as well. Then it pushes up into the cover, concealing it. Still have a cover just like this that we purchased 20 years ago. It is a must have item.

The plastic endcap that keeps the telescoping wand from slipping into itself fell off making it no longer convenient to use, since there is no way to retrieve the projection wand. I had one of these umbrella covers for several years and did not encounter this problem.This one is only a few weeks old.
BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The top flops over on new cover, the metal rod does not project as high as old cover and the material is thinner and the rod flexes. Very dissappointed in ZipJack for this poor quality product -- I have to climb on top of my table to get this new cover on. I never had to do that with the older model!! I used the older model for almost 10 years daily June - September!!! I will take my old cover to an auto upholster to have it fixed when they return in August!
BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Umbrella cover had lighter weight fabric than one I ordered 2 years ago. Will be interesting to see how it holds up compared to my other one. It is the greatest for getting on and off so I use it consistently to protect my umbrellas.
